Uzbekistan is a young country that emerged from the collapse of the Soviet Union. Her legacy is much older than her age as a country. The Silk Road passed here, along which Chinese goods were transported to Europe. During the conquests of Genghis Khan, Uzbekistan became an important center of the Turkic-Mongolian peoples. Another leader – Tamerlan – created a huge empire in the fourteenth century with its capital in Samarkand. Uzbekistan combines the heritage of the Turkic and Mongolian tribes and the culture of Islam, India and Persia. In the cities of Uzbekistan, we can see impressive buildings built in previous centuries – mosques, midrashim, baths, fortress walls, minarets and local residents who keep the traditions of their ancestors.

Tel Aviv - Tashkent

Departure to Tashkent, departure in the evening, 23:00 landing in the morning 05:30 (according to the HY flight schedule). The final flight time will be announced later.

Day 1 (Wednesday) → Tashkent

After landing in Tashkent, we will arrive to the hotel to get ready and have breakfast. From there we will go on a city tour of Tashkent, a green city with millions of trees. Since the middle of the 19th century, the city has had a Russian character, and many of its inhabitants speak Russian. In the earthquake of 1966, Tashkent was destroyed, with the exception of part of the old city. In a short time, the city was rebuilt and built as a modern Russian city with an Islamic touch. During our tour we will visit: earthquake monument, Amir-Timur square, Independence square, new parliament building, art museum and take a ride on the Tashkent metro, which is one of the most beautiful in the world. We will visit a large indoor market. We will return to the hotel for dinner. Accommodation in Tashkent.

Day 2 (Thursday) → Tashkent - Samarkand

After an early breakfast, we will take the Afrosiab high-speed train to Samarkand. Full day tour of the picturesque city, the city of domes and minarets covered with turquoise-colored ceramics. We will visit the Jewish cemetery, from where we will reach the tomb attributed to the prophet Daniel. During our tour, we will visit the Gor-Y Amir mausoleum, where Tamerlan and his successors are buried (15th century), we will see the remains of the Bibi Khanum mosque, which was the largest in Central Asia. Departure to the hotel for the organization and dinner of a barbecue, accompanied by a local folklore show. Overnight in Samarkand.

Day 3 (Friday) → Samarkand

After breakfast we will go on an excursion. Let's see Registan Square, Ulugbek Madrasah, Madrasah with lions and Golden Madrasah. From there we continue to the palace of Avraam Kalantrov, built at the beginning of the 20th century and captured by the communists. The palace combines traditional Uzbek decorations with European ones. We will end our tour in Samarkand with a visit to the Afghan carpet. A factory founded by carpet weavers who found shelter in Samarkand. We will observe the process of weaving woolen carpets and rugs. Gorgeous silks, from raw to perfect carpet. If time permits, we will walk to the central and colorful market of Samarkand, full of good things, fresh and dried fruits and vegetables, a variety of pastries, sweets, drinks, spices, clothes, dishes, furniture. We will return to the hotel and prepare for Shabbat and candle lighting. After the prayer, the hotel will host a Saturday dinner. Evening meal on Shabbat.

Day 4 (Saturday) → Samarkand

In the morning, after coffee and cake at the hotel, we will have Shabbat prayer, and after the Shabbat meal, we will go on a night tour. Free time for a short rest or walk around the city. Mincha prayer and third meal at the hotel. Local folk show in Mohash.

Day 5 (Sunday) → Samarkand - Bukhara

Bukhara was one of the important trade stations on the Silk Road and a major Islamic center. We will visit the Ismail Samani Museum of the 10th century, which is considered a masterpiece in the field of architecture. From there we will turn to Chashma Ayyub (Ayyub's eye), where the dervishes used to stay. We will visit "Ark" - the emir's winter palace, which is used as a museum, we will be impressed by the famous Fu-i Kalan minaret, which was once known as the tallest building in the world, and next to it is the great mosque of Bukhara, where dozens of thousand people and opposite the madrasah named Miri Arab, a descendant of Muhammad and the herald of Islam in Central Asia. Dinner and overnight in Bukhara.

Day 6 (Monday) → Bukhara

After breakfast, we will go to the big market of Bukhara "Karavan Saray". We will visit indoor markets and get to "Love is", a large water pool and the center of city life. The pool is surrounded by ancient trees, cafes, sitting playing checkers. Not far from them, riding a donkey, stands a statue of Nasser-i-Din, the famous jester, who, with his wisdom and humor, took from the rich and gave to the poor. Nodir Divan Begi", which was previously used as a "caravanserai", a hostel for man and beast on the Silk Road. In front of him rises a khanka, where the dervishes found shelter. From here we will go to the summer palace of the last Emir of Bukhara, Ali Khan, located in the suburbs of the city. In a complex of palaces, gardens and pools, and wonderful stories. Enjoy an exciting local folklore, poetry, dance and colorful fashion show at the Nadir Divan Begi Madrasah, located in the city center in "Levi Hovuz". Dinner and overnight in Bukhara.

Day 7 (Tuesday) → Bukhara – Tashkent – Tel Aviv

After breakfast and completion of excursions in Bukhara, we will head towards the airport. We are flying to Tashkent and from there to Tel Aviv, scheduled flight: departure at 18:00, landing at 21:30 (according to the HY flight schedule). * Changes may happen, the itinerary may change depending on flight restrictions / ground services.
